In the world of Franco Manca, Pizza East and Pizza Pilgrims, you would think that this already-crowded scene cannot take another heavyweight. Homeslice begs to differ, so was it any good? Time to find out…

Ideal for:
Pizza lovers who want to go big
Dinner with mates
Those on a budget
Ambience & Décor
A quiet weekday became a raucous lunchtime once I stepped through the doors of Homeslice. For a petite venue, the atmosphere was a lovely vibe for lunch. The no-frills décor was in keeping with the affordable theme Homeslice shoots for. The biggest issue was the cramped dining, which is a personal bug bear.
Service
Homeslice Fitzrovia relies on a quick turnaround given the affordable pizzas in an otherwise affluent area. Despite the waitresses moving at a rapid pace, I never felt unattended. Service with a smile always goes a long way.
Food

Due to the ginormous size of a pizza, it was one shared between two. Homeslice’s USP is the concept of ‘half and half’ pizzas with intriguing toppings. Sadly, today I decided to play safe. The Margherita half was not too oily and flavoursome, with the fresh basil always a welcomed addition. Simple but always a fan-favourite. The other half was Salami, Rocket & Parmesan. The spicy salami was complemented well with the earthy cheese and fresh greens. I am a cheese lover and was delighted to see the copious amounts of parmesan given.
From the first bite to the last, it was a enjoyable experience. £20 for such a large pizza presents good value. In the world of Franco Manca, Pizza East and Pizza Pilgrims, I think there is room for Homeslice. Overall a very solid A rating.

Final grade: A
Final comment: Giant pizzas always brings giant fun. Well worth the visit.
